The invention concerns a motor vehicle headlight comprising a light source (10) co-operating with a mirror (10), and a lens, the mirror comprising an end wall (21) and at least a lateral fender skirt (22, 23) exposed to the light radiating from the source. The invention is characterised in that at least one of the fender skirts (22, 23) is capable in at least one zone of reflecting the light to prolong uninterruptedly and laterally the beam generated by the mirror end wall (21), substantially without enhancing said beam in the road axis; the lens is smooth or very slightly deflecting. The invention is applicable to homogeneous light beams having large dimensions.

Un projecteur de véhicule automobile comprend une source lumineuse (10) coopérant avec un miroir (20), et une glace, le miroir comportant un fond (21) et au moins une joue latérale (22, 23) exposée au rayonnement issu de la source. Selon l'invention, au moins l'une des joues (22, 23) est apte dans au moins une zone à réfléchir la lumière pour prolonger latéralement, avec continuité, le faisceau engendré par le fond (21) du miroir, sensiblement sans renforcer ledit faisceau dans l'axe de la route; la glace est lisse ou très faiblement déviatrice. Application aux faisceaux lumineux homogènes et de grande largeur.
